Ukraine: grain stocks in Crimea lowered by nearly 13%
In the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as of September 1, 2009, agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) and also enterprises, dealing with storage and processing of grains, kept 901 thsd tonnes of grains, down 12.8% compared to the same date of 2008, informed the Main department of statistics in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Russia. RAD winter sowings almost completed
PAVA daughter company RAD reported that sowings of winter crops are nearing completion. In this campaign, wheat and rye were planted by RAD’s farming units in Kamensky and Solton districts, using the majority of seeding material from the company’s own production, and purchasing a variety of elite sorts for the remaining part.

In August 2009, Ukrainian ports stopped decreasing cargo flow volumes
In August 2009, the majority of ports of Ukraine managed to stop the tendency of the fall of cargo flow volumes. The situation became more stabilized compared to previous months. But, the ports still do not show growing tendencies, declared Nikholay Pavluk, the head of Odessa port.

Ukraine increased agricultural products output by 0.4%
During eight months of 2009, the general output of agricultural products in all varieties of agrarian economies of Ukraine increased by 0.4%, including agricultural enterprises decreased the output by 3.6%, economies of Ukrainian population – up 3.8%, declared the State Statistics Committee on September 15.

Ukraine grows production volumes of agriculture
During January-August of 2009, the low growth of volumes of agriculture production in Ukraine at the level of 0.4% compared to the same period of 2008, can become explicable on the ground of high relative base of 2008 – 21%, declared Bogdan Danilishyn, the Minister of Economics of Ukraine.

Agriculture dropped in August for the first time since early the year
The growth in agricultural output volumes slowed down to 0.4% for January / August compared with this same time last year, while it quickened in the sector throughout the previous months and reached 3.8% for January / July, reported the State Statistics Committee.
