Ukraine grows production volumes of agriculture
During January-August of 2009, the low growth of volumes of agriculture production in Ukraine at the level of 0.4% compared to the same period of 2008, can become explicable on the ground of high relative base of 2008 – 21%, declared Bogdan Danilishyn, the Minister of Economics of Ukraine.
According to the Minister, from the beginning of 2009, agriculture continues growing the production volumes: during January-July, the growth totaled 3.8%, which became the highest cumulative index in the year.
Besides, during May-July period, the market showed the production growth compared to the previous months. In July, the volumes of the industrial production increased by 4.9% compared to June (in June – 3.1% compared to May). In July, the fall of the production volumes compared to July 2008, became the lowest index among the same indices of the current year (down 26.7% as opposed to the average index of 31.2% of the current year).
