Ukraine: grain stocks in Crimea lowered by nearly 13%
In the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as of September 1, 2009, agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) and also enterprises, dealing with storage and processing of grains, kept 901 thsd tonnes of grains, down 12.8% compared to the same date of 2008, informed the Main department of statistics in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
According to the announcement, wheat stocks in the Crimea totaled 598.4 thsd tonnes, barley stocks – 275.3 thsd tonnes, maize stocks – 3.1 thsd tonnes.
Form the total amount, directly agrarian enterprises stocked 399.9 thsd tonnes of grains, down 6.1% compared to September 1 of 2008, including 235.4 thsd tonnes of wheat, 138.9 thsd tonnes of barley and 2.7 thsd tonnes of maize.
As of September 1, 2009, grain storehouses and grain processing enterprises stocked 501.1 thsd tonnes of grains, down 17.4% compared to the same date of the previous year.
As a reminder, as of August 1, 2009, agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) of the Crimea and also enterprises, dealing with storage and processing of grains, kept 951 thsd tonnes of grains, down 12.3% compared to August 1, 2008. Particularly, wheat carry-over stocks totaled 609.1 thsd tonnes, barley – 315.7 thsd tonnes, maize – 5.5 thsd tonnes.
