Crimea increased grain sales by 7.6%
During January-August of 2009, agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) sold 457.6 thsd tonnes of grains, an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, declared the Main department of statistics of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Import of three producers' chicken meat and pork banned
Import of frozen chicken meat produced by the Belgian company Kipco-Damaco and Germany's Trinity GMBH as well as frozen pork by the Polish producer Zaklady Miesne Konskowola has been banned by the State Committee for Veterinary Medicine.

Sugar mills can receive land on security of products
The Cabinet of Ukraine intends to introduce a pledge way to purchase sugar to allow producers to obtain extra floating finds. Sugar mills can attract a loan in hryvnia from the agrarian Fund for over a year with the interest rate 9% on the security of products.

Sunflower oil exports from Ukraine grew by 58.5%
In 2008/09 MY, sunflower oil export volumes from Ukraine increased by 58.5% compared to the previous season – to 2.1 mln tonnes at the sum of 1.57 bln USD, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on September 25.

Minimum retail prices for cognac increased
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved of increasing the retail price for cognac. The minimum retail price for three-year old cognac is set at UAH 26.36 (EUR 2.11 USD 3.10) per 0.5 litre, four-year old UAH 29.34, five-year old UAH 33.34 per 0.5 litre.

Hop growing industry to get 22% more funding in 2010
The government is planning to allocate UAH 92.25mn (EUR 7.37mn USD 10.85mn) for the development of the hop growing industry in 2010, 22% more than in 2009, according to the 2010 state budget project.
