Grain export exceeds 6mln tons
Grain export in 2009/10 marketing year exceeded six million tons, the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC) press center informed.
"Gross yield of grain cultures in Ukraine from the 2009 yield will make up 47 million tons, including corn - about 10 million tons, if all areas under corn designated for grain will harvested", UAC Director General Serhiy Stoyanov says.
Therefore, the expert notes, a potential of the Ukrainian grain export makes up 20-21 million tons without any detriment to formation of the carry-over stock by the end of the marketing year, including wheat, the main food culture.
Grain export has already exceeded six million tons, including export of wheat - 3.4 million tons (out of this volume - up to 70% of the fodder grain), about 2.2 million of barley and about 400,000 tons of corn. Exports in September (over 2.2 million tons) will noticeably exceed data for August (about 2 million tons) and for July (1.7 million tons).
