EU increased the supply of agricultural products in Ukraine
According to the State Fiscal Service, supply of agricultural products from the EU to Ukraine in the first half of 2016 amounted by 0.85 B USD, which is in 8.1% more than in the same period of last year. Overall, imports of agricultural products increased by 10.2% to 1.95 B USD during the first half of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015.

Demand for cattle from abroad has led to prices increase
According to UCAB price monitoring, the average purchase cattle price (bulls 400 kg) from the beginning of October amounted to 30-31 UAH/kg. In the central region price increased by 10% and into the middle of the month amounted to 32-34 UAH/kg.

Parliament conserved corruption schemes in land relations for one more year
October 6, Parliament adopted the bill to extend the moratorium on sale of agricultural land until January 1, 2018. 297 deputies voted «For» the bill № 5123-1.

Land bank of Ukrainian agriholdings increased by 110 thousand ha
According to the UCAB research «Ukraine Agriholdings 2016» in 2015 Ukrainian agriholdings increased their land bank in 110 thousand ha to 5.71 million ha, which currently is 28% of the lands that are used by agricultural enterprises.

Ukrainian malt exports increased by 2.8 times
According to the State Fiscal Service in January-August 2016, Ukraine exported 60.8 thousand tons of malt, which is in 2.8 times higher than in the same period last year. In monetary terms it is 22.4 M USD, which is in 2.6 times more than in the first 8 months of 2015.

Supplies of frozen fish set record
According to the State Fiscal Service, in January-August 2016, Ukraine imported livestock products for 390 M USD, within that half of supplies were taken by frozen fish (49,9% or 146,1 thousand tons). This is in 39% higher than the results of the same period last year. In monetary terms, imports of these products amounted to 170, 5 M USD which is in 51,5% more than in the first 8 months of 2015.

Ukraine continues to increase exports of agricultural products
Due to information of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, during the first eight months of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015 there is an increasing in trade of agricultural products, including exports - by 2.9% to 9,1 B USD and imports - by 11% to 2,5 B USD.

The rates of sowing rape are in one and a half times higher than last year
As of September 6 601 thousands of hectares sowed with rapeseeds, which is 54% higher comparing to the rate of the previous year. In total, sown area of winter rapeseeds crop in 2017 is expected to cover 724 thousands of hectares or 10% more than during the harvest in 2016.

Import of pork is reduced by 36%
Due to the information of Custom service of Ukraine, during January – July 2016 import of pork in dollar value reduced by 36% to 3, 3 M USD, compared to the same period in 2015 (5.1 M USA).
