UCAB to provide IFC's Agri-Finance Project in Ukraine with expert advice
NIKA Project Partners, the service agency of the "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB), was selected to provide IFC’s Agri-Finance Project in Ukraine with expert advice and verifiable farm data that will be incorporated into lending instruments developed by the project that will increase bank lending to farmers.

AgroDebates: Draft Law on Land Market Needs Serious Improvements
The first-ever Ukrainian AgroDebates on “Should Agricultural Land Market Be Created and When Will Ukraine Be Ready for This Step?”, organized by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association (UCAB), were held in Kyiv on September 20, 2011. During the debates, representatives of government institutions, professional and industry-specific associations, experts, and representatives of agricultural business agreed on one main point: the draft law on the land market needed to be seriously improved.

Grain market: Russia - Ukraine 5:1
Since the beginning of a new season, the volume of Russian grain export is almost five times higher than the volume of grain shipments from Ukraine. During July and August the Russian Federation has shipped about 4.4 million tons of grain to foreign markets, while Ukraine has exported only 0.9 million tons.

AgriJob reported about a significant deficit of professionals in the agricultural sector
According to the data of AgriJob, a specialized agency of the Association "Ukrainian agribusiness club", it has been recently a significant growth in demand for candidates on such specialties: agronomists, engineers, technologists and sales managers. Comparing with the previous year, the number of vacancies on these specialties has increased by 75%. The need for specialists is particularly noticeable in Central and Western Ukraine.

The number of agricultural machinery in Ukraine decreased in 2010
As reported in the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB) press release, according to Derzhstat data the number of tractors in the agricultural enterprises decreased by 2.2%, and harvesters - by 3,4% in 2010. Despite of the significant depreciation of machinery, the rate of renewal of tractors in use was only 5,4% in 2010, and harvesters - 6,1%
