Concentration of plant protection agents market is growing

At the same time with the growth of plant protection agents market, grows also consumers loyalty to key players of the sector. The recognizability of leading brands in this nomination has increased on average by 5%, while a total growth in 2011 was 38%. According to the poll results in the framework of annual contest «AGROBRAND», which was organized by the AssociationUkrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB) together with Kyiv International Contract Fair (KICF).

Companies Bayer and Syngenta, which received accordingly 33% and 32% of votes, were acknowledged as the best producers of agrochemical products in the Central regions (Vinnytsya, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernigiv regions). The third best recognizing company is BASF, which was acknowledged by 16% of respondents.

In nomination “Best producer of agricultural machinery” the first place took John Deere getting 40% from farmers. Company MTZ is on the second place МТЗ (32%) and the third place got Claas (20%). Companies МТZ and Claas revised their stands by 6% compared to last year results.

Company Pioneer was acknowledged as the most well-known seed producer (39%), there was a tough competition for the second place between Syngenta and Monsanto companies, which received almost equal quantity of votes - 28% and 26% accordingly. According to the Project Manager of AgriSurvey UCAB Iryna Kulyk, there is a notable concentration of consumers loyalty to the key seed producers, which considerably shifted their ground, in comparison to the last year. The recognizability of Pioneer grew by 7%, Syngenta by 11%, Monsanto by 10%. The recognizability of other brands doesn’t exceed 4%.

There are two leaders in the sphere of resources provision in the Central regions: Eridon (26%) and Rise (22%). Eridon increased the rate of recognizability by more than 10% in comparison to the last year and left behind Rise, which was the best in this nomination last year. A considerable part of farmers (15%) avoid dealers. «The special feature of Central region is that farmers directly cooperates with resources producersIt is connected with territorial proximity to the representative offices of agricultural resources producers. Direct selling also facilitates higher efficiency of marketing policy in resources companies», - comments Iryna Kulyk.

UCAB reminds that summing up the results of «AGROBRAND» contest and the reward ceremony will take place in the framework of the exhibition “InterAgro-2012 on the 7th of February 2012 at 1 p. m. in the conference-hall №2 exhibition hall № 3.

«AGROBRAND» contest was created by the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” together with Kyiv International Contract Fair LTD in 2009. The objective of the contest is formation on development of brands’ recognizability, objective assessment of marketing efficiency of resource companies, research of market dynamics and changes in consumers demands. There is a rewarding of the most efficient brands among the suppliers of agricultural resources according to the contests results: “Best producer of agricultural machinery”, “Best producer of agrochemical products”, “Best producer of agricultural seeds”. Best dealer of agricultural resources. Polling methodology: telephone interview with director / chief agronomist / chief engineer of farm. Sample error by polling of 1000 respondents is ± 3%.
