In October cheese imports to Ukraine three times higher than its exports
According to the data of customs statistics, in October 2014 Ukraine exported about 300 tons of cheese. At the same time, its imports amounted to 940 tons, this was reported in the the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

Ban of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance may cause losses of US $300 million by landowners
Since October 22, 2014, ban on crop production imported from Ukraine has entered into force in the Russian Federation. Whereas in the past restrictions used to be imposed on such plant products as onion, potatoe, sunflower seeds, soybeans and meal, currently Ukraine can not export to the Russian Federation the total list of goods included in the list of regulated products with high phytosanitary risk (complete products list can be found according to the reference). Thus, the Ukrainian exporters would suffer additional financial losses in the amount of US $57,5 million till the end of 2014 as a result of embargo on this products list. For the calendar year, the total amount of losses on this list could reach US $300 million.

Russia banning shipments of plant products from Ukraine starting Oct 22

Foreign direct investment in agriculture of Ukraine decreased by 13,4%
At the end of the first half of 2014, foreign direct investment in agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Ukraine decreased by US$ 104,1 million or 13,4% to US$ 672,5 million, compared to the total investment at the beginning of the year. Ukrainians have reduced consumption of foreign pork. Over nine months of 2014 pork imports to Ukraine dropped 4.2 times to 26.185 mn t (US $68.01 mn) compared to the same period in 2013, according to the State Fiscal Service. President of the Association of Pig Producers Artur Loza says the share of imports of pork in 2013 reached 25–30%.

Sales of grain and leguminous plants in Ukraine increased by 10,4%
For the first two months of 2014/15 MY (July-August), 8,3 million tons of grains and leguminous plants were sold by the Ukrainian agricultural enterprises, which is 10,4% more than the same period of last marketing year. Ukraine cuts exports to Customs Union by third
Exports from Ukraine to the Customs Union countries fell by 30% over the past eight months. However, exports to the EU grew by over 15%, or $1.3 billion.
