Bulgaria GDP Fall Deteriorates to 4,9% in Q2
Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) contracted by 4,9% in the second quarter of 2009 on an annual basis, the first time that the country's GDP marked a drop year-on-year in two successive quarters since the financial and economic crisis in 1997.

Ukraine's GDP 18 percent down this second quarter
Ukraine's GDP has dropped by 18 percent in the second quarter against the same period last year, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine said in a preliminary report Wednesday. In the first quarter the GDP drop totalled 20.3 percent.

Ukraine's Agriculture Ministry has raised its 2009 grain crop forecast to 45 million tonnes from the previous outlook of 42-43 million tonnes, Farm Minister Yuri Melnyk told reporters on Wednesday. The 2008 grain harvest reached a record 53.3 million tonnes.
