Production of rapeseed oil grew up by 53%
In 2015 in Ukraine, it was produced 148 th t of rapeseed oil that on 53% exceeds its production in 2014, and the whole rapeseed oil produced was exported.
Last year it was sold abroad 149 th t of rapeseed oil for 109.8 mln USD. In 2015, the largest consumers of Ukrainian rapeseed oil were Italy – with a share of 32%, China - 31%, and India – 9.3%.
Production and exports of rapeseed oil is rather new trend for Ukrainian companies. Even 5 years ago, production volumes in Ukraine were limited by 5 th t. The increasing of rapeseed processing in Ukraine is explained by the higher profitability of exports of added value products to Asia and the Middle East, happened simultaneously with falling world prices for rapeseed and decreased demand for it in the EU due to the collapse with mineral oil prices.
