Production of frozen beef has increased more than two times
According to the State Agency of Statistics, in January, industrial production of frozen beef amounted to 0.8 ths tons that is more than two times more than similar indexes of 2015. Production of frozen chicken has increased by 86% up to 19.8 ths tons.
Such tendency indicates that meat-processing companies have started to make reserves in anticipation of a recovery in demand. At the same time, production of fresh and chilled meat has decreased: beef – on 18%, and poultry on 5%. In January, production of fresh and chilled pork meat has dropped only on 1.5% to 17.4 th t, and frozen - on 26%. So, in January, processing companies did not make significant stocks of this meat waiting for further price cutting.
