Ukrainian business actively exports glucose and syrups to EU
As of August 15, 2016 Ukrainian business entities has used 27% of EU’s quotas for glucose and 10% for non-tariff custom quotas on sugar products comparing to 6% and 16% during the same period in 2015. Thus, Ukrainian business intensified deliveries to European countries. Positive dynamics of quotas fulfillment within mentioned categories demonstrates that Ukrainian business has strengthen its positions on European markets and proves certain level of European demand for Ukrainian products despite overall decline of export in mentioned group of goods.
According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, exported volumes of sugar products (sugar in solid state, syrups and synthetic honey) accounted at 11.2 k tons - 11.5% less comparing to previous indication in 2015. Export of mentioned goods group in money terms has declined by 10.6% and reached 3.8 M USD.
Major customers of Ukrainian sugar products are Russia and Belarus which buy together almost a half of all exported solid sugar products and syrups – 48.8 from Ukraine. Russian share of Ukrainian export accounts for 34% and Belarus – 14.8%. Third state by share in export of Ukrainian sugar products is Bulgaria with 12.1% stake.
