USAID and UCAB will collaborate on Agrokebety Project
On 21 May Michael Pillsbury, Director of the USAID Project ‘Economic Support for Eastern Ukraine’, and Alex Lissitsa, President of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The USAID project will support implementation of Agrokebety project in the universities of eastern Ukraine - Luhansk National Agrarian University and D. Motorny Tavriya State Agrotechnological University in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022.
Within two academic years students of these educational institutions will receive mentoring support from agricultural managers in compliance with the current requirements of potential employers. Experts, including international ones, will be involved for this purpose. Students will also gain practical skills in the best agricultural companies in Ukraine.
The cooperation between USAID Project and UCAB will facilitate training specialists and managers of agricultural enterprises, spread innovative and advanced knowledge as well as skills in agriculture and management, enhance efficiency and quality of the educational process.
Owing to implementation of the programme, it is anticipated to boost the image of agricultural specialties and help employers to engage well-trained young experts.
Enrolment of students to Agrokebety programme will begin in summer, training - in the fall of 2020.
It is worth reminding that the memorandum of cooperation between LNAU and UCAB was signed on 12 May.
Grant and educational assistance to entrepreneurs in the eastern Ukraine is provided by the USAID Project under the information campaign ‘East Economic Opportunities’. The campaign is intended to draw attention of the whole Ukraine to the needs and opportunities of the East, since more than ever before in the region there have been so many initiatives aimed at improving living standards, developing business in promising sectors of economy, rehabilitating infrastructure. There have never been so many projects willing to seek investment and help the region to become strong, creative and attractive for work and life.

Agrokebety is an advanced master programme created in cooperation between business and educational institutions in January 2019 by the Association ‘Ukrainian Agribusiness Club’ (UCAB) on the basis of the Faculty of Agricultural Management of NULES of Ukraine.
The main objective of the programme is to provide top Ukrainian agricultural companies with highly skilled personnel. And graduates – with a highly-paid job immediately upon graduation.
The peculiarity of the programme envisages support for each student by a mentor-representative of the companies involved in the project. An additional competitive advantage of the curriculum consisted in foreign lectures from successful agribusiness managers from all around the world.
