Ukrros increases market share to 12.8%
Land bank of the sugar union Ukrros increased by 20,000 ha, to 80,000 ha in 2008. The company s share in the Ukrainian sugar market increased from 9.8% to 12.9%. The share of owned raw materials in processing volumes increased from 25% to 33%. The company increased output of sugar beets by 30%, to 525,000 tons, of sugar by 13%, to 199,000 tons, of wheat by 35.4%, to 55,140 tons and of barley by 34.7%, to 39,647 tons in 2008. Output of sweet corn decreased by 19.7%, to 23,599 tons, and of soy by 44%, to 688,100 tons.
The company is planning to take areas of cultivated lands to 100 ha by 2010 uniting the companies Ukrros and Ukrros-Zerno. The paramount objective of the company in 2009-2010 is to set up profitable production and to provide further development. The company also considers increasing gross output of barley, wheat and sweet corn in 2009 increasing areas of cultivated lands.
