Ukrainian apples open new markets
According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine exported 7.8 ths. tons of apples in the amount of $ 1,762 during the first 8 months of this year. While in the same period last year, Ukrainian growers exported 0.46 ths. tons of apples in the amount of 89 thousand USD. The total production in 2015 amounted to 1179.6 ths. tons.
The export share of total production is still small. However, the geography of exports has grown significantly in 2016. The majority of Ukrainian apple placed on the market of Belarus year ago, but this year the supply carried out in Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Romania, Indonesia and more countries are still adding.
