Ukraine-Belarus trade at $548mn in Q1
In Q1 2009 the trade between Belarus and Ukraine totaled $547.8 million, which accounts for 45.2% of the first quarter trade last year, BelTA learnt form the Embassy of Belarus to Ukraine.
In January-March Belarusian exports reached $276.4 million, imports $271.4million (accounting for 36.2% and 60.3% of the trade in the same period last year).
Belarus had a $5 million surplus in trade with Ukraine in Q1.
A reminder, in 2008 the trade between Belarus and Ukraine hit $5 billion, with a $700mn surplus for Belarus.
