Ukraine June 1 Grain Stocks Down 42% On Year
Grain stocks in Ukraine on June 1 totaled 6.3 million metric tons, a fall of 42% on the year, the state statistics service reported Friday.
Wheat stocks on the date totaled 2.5 million tons, barley stocks 0.7 million tons, corn stocks 2.6 million tons, rye stocks 200,000 tons.
Farmers held 3.1 million tons of grain, a fall of 36% on the year, including 0.9 million tons of wheat, 1.3 million tons of corn and 0.5 million tons of barley.
The rest of the grain was held by grain storage and processing enterprises.
The agriculture ministry predicts rebound of Ukraines grain harvest in 2013 up to 54 million metric tons versus 46.2 million tons in 2012.
