Ukraine and World Bank sign loan agreement
Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, World Bank) have signed an agreement on the extension of a loan to the republic.
The $300 million loan is offered to Ukraine to finance the country's budget and strategic reforms. The document was signed by Ukraine's Economy Minister Bogdan Danilishin and IBRD's Director for Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova Paul Birmingham.
Ukraine's economic policy for 2008 is aimed at the creation of favorable conditions for doing business in the republic, promotion of investment and innovative development, as well as at the strengthening of the banking system. (rbcnews)
