Ukraine closed three quotas for duty-free exports to the EU
As of January 21, Ukraine has closed quotas for duty-free exports to the European Union for honey, grape and apple juices, as well as the main and additional quota for maize. The trend towards a rapid quotas closing has been observed since the opening of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. In spite of the exhaustion of import quotas for duty-free, the export of these products will continue.
Compared to the same period in 2018, quotas closing has accelerated for processed starch, sugar, malt and wheat gluten, which are already closed by 17%, 38% and 44%, respectively.
Instead, compared to last year, the situation with supplies of processed tomatoes within the limits of quotas has changed. To date, only 3% have been used, while last year, as of the 20th of January, 11% have been used.
