UCAB supports decrease of custom duty on livestock’s export
Government intends to lower custom duty for animal breeding companies on export deals with livestock.
Law act draft №4569 “About export custom duty on livestock and animal skins” (concerning intensification of industry productivity)”, registered in parliament on May 4, 2016, AgroPortal informs. Thus, the law act draft supposes to decrease export duty on calves with weight of minimum 300 kg and bloodstock sheeps & muttons in live weight from 10% to 3%.
According to statistics of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, 7864 tons of live animals accounted in 12.7 M USD were exported in 2014, including 6118 tons exported to the CIS countries and 1746 tons to other. Mentioned before export deals were taxed by export duty. Along with, sale price on cattle live weight per kg reached 40 UAH on external and is twice less on internal market.
“Considering stated above, custom duty decrease for particular types of live animals supposed to boost margins of nationals producers”, - the law act authors have noted.
It’s expected that adoption of new law act draft №4569 has to stimulate national animal breeding companies due to new export duties. Also, implementation of new law intend to stimulate industry stabilization providing coherent development within breeding farms with implemented modern technologies, stable employment and increase of margins of business.
