Agrarian export rates are lower than last year
According to the State Fiscal Service, for the first half of 2018, exports of agricultural products from Ukraine decreased by 1,7% compared to the same period of 2017. In the overall structure of exports from Ukraine, the share of agricultural exports increased from 36,4% in the first half of 2017 to 36,7% in 2018.
In January-June 2018, agricultural products were exported at USD 8,5 bln, as opposed to USD 8,7 bln in the first half of 2017. Reduction of exports occurred in supplies of fats, oils and crop production. Exports of fats and oils decreased by 7% or USD 172 mln. The main reason for the reduction was the decline in the supplies of sunflower oil to Turkey, as well as Egypt and China.
Supplies of corn and barley abroad also reduced. Thus, exports of crop products declined by 2,4% or USD 102 mln. Purchases of barley from Ukraine were reduced mainly by Saudi Arabia and Libya, corn - Spain, Korea and the Netherlands.
