The increase in wheat production is expected in the western regions of Ukraine
The UCAB analytical team conducted a survey as part of «UCAB Metrics 2018: Seeds, Plant production products and Fertilizer» study among Ukrainian agricultural enterprises of different categories from different geographic regions.
The largest number of those who declared their intention to increase planted areas under wheat was among the enterprises that cultivate more than 1 000 hectares - about 20%.
According to the survey, it became known that 37,5% of respondents from the western regions intend to increase planted areas under wheat, at the same time less than 1% - plan to reduce the sowings.
In contrast, among respondents from the central regions of Ukraine, only 20% expressed their intention to increase the sowings under this crop, while 15% and 2% stated their intention to reduce or not sow at all, respectively. In the Southeast, 23% of enterprises will increase the sowings, compared with 26% that plan to reduce planted areas under the wheat.
