Pork meat export has shown 7X decline
According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine information, pork meat export has declined in 7 times (-85%) comparing to the Jan-Apr time period in 2015 and reached in 2016 some 1.1 k tons, accounted in 1.6M USD (8.5X less than previous year).
Major customers of pork meat from Ukraine became Armenia (48% - 752 k USD), Hong-Kong (24% - 371 k USD) and Georgia (19.4%- 303 k USD). As Ukrainian entities still didn’t get required certificates for export to the EU and due to Russian bans, business has not the best conditions presently. From the other side, major exporters of pork meat to Ukraine are the EU’s countries as Poland, Germany and the Netherlands, contributing 82% of the overall Ukrainian import.
For notice, Ukraine has implemented non-tariff duty quota for the EU countries. According to the SFS of Ukraine information, the EU has exported to Ukraine 1.6 k tons of pork meat (16% of the quota’s volume).
