No sugar deficit expected in Ukraine
There will be no sugar deficit in Ukraine, Agricultural Policy Minister Yuriy Melnyk said adding that the prices of sugar would no rise either.
"Because the government passed two decisions according to which the Agrarian Fund with its almost 40,000 tons of sugar, and the State Reserve with its 10,000 tons are getting to the market. We hope that they will start selling sugar next week," the minister said.
Melnyk informed that sugar would be sold at UAH 3.71 per kilo (1 USD - 7.62 UAH) to the companies keeping it as part of the state food reserve. Meanwhile, the markup must not exceed 15% of the price.
