NBU will deprive of licenses banks that undermined hryvnia rate
The National Bank of Ukraine intends to revoke licenses to conduct banking activities from those financial institutions that participated in undermining of the national currency on the interbank market.
National Bank Governor Stepan Kubiv has said this before the government meeting Wednesday.
"Verification of the National Bank of Ukraine is underway to identify specific offenders in these banks (14 banks are suspected of speculations - Ed.)," Kubiv said.
He also reminded that the National Bank disconnected 14 banks from the interbank market system Tuesday, which are suspected of carrying out speculations with the exchange rate.
