The prices for crops are growing
There has been an ascending trend on the crop market during the last two weeks. Last week (22.01-29.01.2016 year) the average purchasing price for wheat of the 3rd class increased to 3700 (+100) UAH/t, for feed wheat - up to 3450 (+50) UAH/t, for barley - to 3450 (+50 ) UAH/t, for maize - up to 3550 (+150) UAH/t.
The prices in hryvnia grow mainly due to exchange rate movements and increased demand from traders because of low stock level. The current prices on the international market are versatile. Possible abolition of customs duties in Russia, appreciation of the euro against the US dollar and reducing freight costs in the USA promote the decrease of prices for grains. On the other side, rumors about cancellation of price regulation in China, growing prices for fossil oil and grasshopper plague in Argentina support the prices.
