KWS is going to construct seeds plant in Ukraine

KWS-Ukraine starts constructing a modern complex for conditioning seedы in Kamyanets-Podilskyi in Khmelnytsky region.

The new production in the south-western part of the country will expand the existing capabilities, increase the benefits for existing and future partners in production of high-quality seeds, will be an essential element in the delivery of high-quality seeds.

 "The idea of building a new plant for seeds conditioning in Ukraine had appeared long time ago. But the balanced German approach, weighing all the pros and cons, choosing of the area and negotiations with the local community took so much time," - says General Director of "KWS-Ukraine" Ltd. Oleksander Fiedorov.

A plant with production capacity of six thousand tons of seeds per year on the first stage is expected to enter in service in September - October of this year. It is designed on the principle of a modular construction. The size of the land plot gives opportunity to increase production capacity if necessary.

"The plant in Kamyanets-Podilskyi will be equipped with the modern equipment in line with the  European standards for seeds handling and environment protection. The plant will have 30 full day workers and about 50 seasonal ones", - said Oleksander Prus, head of the production unit of corn seeds and oilseeds “KWS-Ukraine” Ltd.
