Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover decreased by 38.8%
Foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in the 1st quarter of 2009 totaled $ 14 billion and as compared to the same period of 2008 decreased by 38.8%, the monthly report of the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan informed, "Kazakhstan Today" agency reports.
"Foreign trade turnover in January - March 2009 amounted to $ 14 billion (compared with January - March 2008 it decreased by 38.8%), including export - $ 8 billion (decrease by 49.2%) and import - $ 6 billion (decrease by 15.6%), the statistical report states.
According to the Statistics Agency, the share of export of the country in January - March 2009 was: Italy - 14.7%, China - 13.2%, Switzerland - 12.7%, Russia - 8.9%, France - 7.7%, the Netherlands - 4.3%, the Ukraine - 3.5%, Great Britain - 3.4%, Israel - 2.7%, and Iran - 2.6%.
The share of import amounted to: from Russia - 29.4%, China - 17.6%, the Ukraine - 9.1%, Germany - 7.2% the United States of America - 5.5%, Italy - 3.2%, Japan - 3%, Britain - 2%, Turkey - 1.8%, and Finland - 1.5%.
