Israeli group buys Black Sea wheat
A consortium of Israeli private buyers has purchased about 30,000 tonnes of feed wheat from the Black Sea region in a tender for the same volume which closed on Thursday, European traders said on Monday. It also bought an unknown volume of corn (maize) from the Black Sea region, thought to be considerably under the tender volume of 32,000 tonnes, traders said.
Half of the wheat was said to have been purchased at just below $159 a tonne c&f for shipment between June 25-July 15 and the rest at $165 a tonne c&f for shipment between July 20-August 10. The corn was bought at about $192 a tonne c&f for shipment between June 25-July 15. In the last reported Israeli purchase on April 2, a consortium of private buyers purchased about 25,000 tonnes of feed wheat at $148 a tonne c&f and 25,000 tonnes of corn at $176 a tonne c&f.
