Import of fish decreased by 28%
According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, during the 11 months of 2015 was imported by 28% fish less than for the same period 2014 - 186.7 thous. t. Major suppliers were Norway, Iceland and the United States.
The main reasons for the reduction of supply are devaluation and low purchasing power of the population. Compared to last year the largest volume decrease was in the import of frozen fish (45.4 thousand tons) and fish fillets (including minced). The supply of these products declined in three times to almost 11 thousand tons. The volume of imported alive and dried fish almost unchanged.
