Astarta completes spring sowing campaign
The holding Astarta-Kyiv has completed the spring sowing campaign. The area under sugar beet increased by 17% to 35,000 hectares against 2008. The area under spring barley amounted to 23,000 hectares (up 5%), under sunflower to 12,000 hectares, under soy to 14,000 hectares, under corn to 14,000 hectares (up 26%). The total agricultural turnover of the holding amounts to 159,000 hectares of land in 2009 (up 10%).
