99% of early grain harvested in Ukraine
Harvesting of early grain in Ukraine is almost completed, agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a briefing in the Cabinets meeting.
«To date, 99% of projected areas are threshed and more than 32.2 million tons of early grain crops are collected. It’s practically the entire crop,» the minister stressed. Prysiazhniuk mentioned that the total yield of wheat is more than 22.8 million tons, of barley — 7.7 million tons and of rye — 685 thousand tons.
Speaking on the grain export, Prysiazhniuk added that in the current marketing year, Ukraine has exported 2.3 million tons of grain. «Out of them there are 823 thousand tons of wheat, 953 thousand tons of barley, 468 thousand tons of corn».
