Agribusiness export grew in regards to all commodity groups
According to data of the State Fiscal Service, within January-February 2017 comparing to the same period in 2016 the export of agricultural products from Ukraine increased by 32.3% and amounted to USD 2.68 billion Whereas, the share of agricultural products export in terms of the general export structure of Ukraine has not changed - 42.8%.

Ukraine has exhausted the quota on export of juice to the EU
According to data of the European Commission, at the beginning of March 2017 Ukraine has exhausted the quota on tax-free export of grape and apple juice.

Volume of capital investments in AIC increased by 62%
During the first three quarters of 2016 the volume of capital investments in agriculture sector grew by 63% amounting to UAH 29.8 billion. For comparison, the amount of capital investment in 2015 is equivalent to the index of I-III quarter of 2016.

Prices for food keep growing
The upward price trend was observed for food products in February this year. The price fluctuations were mainly influenced by seasonal factor. Only the price for chicken has not changed and remained at the level of previous month. The cost of vegetables for borshch set with the exception of onion increased by 5%. Early spring as well as strengthening of hryvnia have led to a slight decline in prices for onion and apples by 5 and 2%, respectively.

Agricultural associations urged members of parliament to support the draft law on food safety
Agricultural industry associations applied to the Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations with a request within the shortest possible time to make proposals and amendments to the bill (0906) on safety and quality of food and feed products, animal health and welfare, and to support its submission to voting in the Verkhovna Rada.

Procedure for distribution of state subsidies violates rights of farmers - UCAB
AIC non-governmental organizations applied to Taras Kutovyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, with a request to amend the Procedure for distribution of budget subsidies aimed at developing agricultural commodity producers and promoting agricultural production in 2017.

Ukrainian roses are entering the foreign markets
Export of the Ukrainian roses tripled last year reaching 2.89 million pieces. In 2015 export amounted to 0.96 million pieces, in 2014 - 0.1 million pieces per year, the UCAB’s expert informed.

Producers of beef will be taught the EU requirements
Ukraine has launched a program of the World Bank Group on training the Ukrainian beef producers to enter the European market. It was commented to UCAB by Kateryna Onul, Advisor on Food Legislation of the World Bank Group for Project ‘Reforming the Investment Climate in Ukraine’.

Agribusiness expectations show modest downslide
This time agri business climate was evaluated by the producers with +16.8 points, which is a modest downslide in comparison to November 2016. If compared to February 2016, when agribusiness climate was evaluated with -18.8 points, it shows considerable improvement. Despite fluctuations in agri business climate that may be caused due to seasonal impact, overall development trend of this estimate seems positive.

Winter crops are recovering lost grounds
On February 28, 2017 the first Winter Cereal Congress was held in Kyiv. The event organized by the Association ‘Ukrainian Agribusiness Club’ together with AgriEvent Agency was entirely devoted to the practical aspects of winter crops production and targeted at developing and improving efficiency of the agriculture in Ukraine.
