Winter crops sown on 5.7 million hectares
Winter crops have been sown on an area of 5.7 million hectares, says Agricultural Policy Minister Yuriy Melnyk.
He specified that this is 83% of the planned acreage.
The minister also noted that the sown area exceeds last year's 5.2 million hectares sown to winter crops by the same date.
Her emphasized that, owing to the absence of rain in the southern and central Ukraine, the situation is unfavorable for the sowing campaign.
Nevertheless, the crops do not suffer from a lack of moisture.
