French Bonduelle to build factory in Ukraine
French processed vegetables producer Bonduelle (EPA:BON) will start building in late 2009 a plant for canned peas and sweetcorn in Ukraine.
The facility, on 1,450 ha (3,583 acres) site in central Cherkasy, in will also cater for the neighbouring Russian market as the company's plant in Krasnodar, Russia, has reached full production capacity, Bonduelle's CEO Pierre Deloffre said.
Bonduelle's sales increased by 12.6% in eastern Europe in fiscal 2008/09 ended June 30, while they remained stable globally.
Operating profit rose by 21.2% in non-European countries and reached 15.7% of the total revenue, against 3.8% in Europe.
The company plans to increase by 40% capacity investments in the 2009-2010 period.
