Export of vegetables for borsch in December 2012 doubled
According to «AgriSurvey» Agency, in December 2012, Ukraine shipped to foreign markets about 6770 tons of potatoes, onions, cabbage and carrots, which is almost 2.2 times higher than the previous month. Thus, in value terms the abovementioned exports increased respectively from 433 thousand USD to 882 thousand USD.

Ukraine to increase areas under berries in 2013

Ukraine may do without cane sugar in 2013
After two years of imports of raw sugar, 2012 has become the first year after Ukraine's accession to the WTO, when the quota for imports at reduced 2-percent tariff was not used. Balance calculations show that in 2013 sugar beet industry in Ukraine once again will be able to provide 100% of domestic demand for sugar. This was stated by UCAB advisor on agricultural markets Taras Vysotskyi.

Strategic trading partners for Ukrainian agribusiness are Customs Union, and the EU
Ukraine actively trades agricultural and food products with the countries of the European Union, as well as with the members of the Customs Union. During eleven months of 2012 Ukraine exported to these countries agricultural products worth about 9 billion U.S. dollars, which is 58% of the total exports of these products in 2012.

Annual food inflation in EU made up 2.6%, while prices in Ukraine decreased by 2.1%
Rising food prices in the European Union in October 2012 compared with the corresponding month of the previous year was 2.6%, while in Ukraine during the same period, food prices fell by 2.1%. This was noted by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club".

Budget 2013: government support of AIC knocked out − UCAB
The draft state budget for 2013, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is the most stringent in relation to agriculture in the last 7 years. This was noted by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB), commenting on the registered in parliament the draft law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2013".

First time poultry meat exports beat imports
According to the State Statistics Service, in September poultry meat imports declined compared with the previous month and was at the level of 8.8 thousand t, while exports rose to 9.3 thousand t. This opportunity appeared due to the reduction of imports of all kinds of meat in September and poultry in particular.
