USDA increases monthly forecast for Ukraine 2009 grain harvest
The United States Department of Agriculture has forecast the 2009 grain harvest in Ukraine at 42.95 million tons and grain exports in the 2009/2010 marketing year (July 2009 – June 2010) at 17.05 million tons, which is 500,000 tons up on the forecast it made a month ago.

Big supply, weak demand weighing on sun oil in Europe
Ample supply and weak demand are weighing on sun oil prices in Europe but some market experts say output is likely to shrink going forward, which should lend support to the market. Ukraine harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the area of 13.7 mln ha as of the beginning of October
According to the State Committee of Statistics of Ukraine, as of October 1, 2009, agricultural economies of all varieties harvested grains and leguminous plants (without maize) throughout the areas of 13.7 mln ha, an increase of 2.8% compared to the same date of 2008, which totaled 86.3% of the sowing areas for the harvest-2009.
