Sunflower harvested on 84% of areas, maize on 40%
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, at present, sunflower is harvested from 84% of areas under crops. Over 40% areas under maize crops are gathered as well. About 5.5mn tons of sunflower and over 4mn tons of maize are totally harvested.

Railroad transportation of grain totals 13mn tons in nine months
Grain transportation by railroad in Ukraine totaled 13.184mn tons in January - September 2009, according to Ukrzalznytsya press service, 39% up y/y. The cereals transported were mainly wheat, barley, corn, rape and sunflower seed.
